Porcupine Tree + Anathema

in the magnificent setting of Piazza Duomo, Pistoia, and Anathema show the strength and emotional intensity is located in the transport of passion. Romantic and gently melancholy, convinced even the last album with the songs, more solar and full of hope. Even Angels Walk Among Us takes on a new energy, abandoning the overly sugary taste that sometimes colors the last album. The sounds are the great enemies of the band, especially in experimental Closer, fails to focus on the proposal, which is instead of striking Beauty and the Flying A Simple Mistake, pearls of the concert, emotionally as well as the beautiful Universal. Closes the classical dances and enthralling Fragile Dreams.
Porcupine Tree are precise and professional, with sound taken care of a millimeter (despite some inevitable smear, typical of the festival) and hallucinatory projections to amplify the effect of music. The lineup is centered on the last concept album, and is almost a remake of one proposed last tour. And powerful rock songs (Bonnie the Cat) alternate with moments of romance and melancholy, suffused almost (Kneel and Disconnect). Time Flies, is a vortex of emotions, especially in the solo station. Blackest Eyes, with its charge of adrenaline, and Hatesong, enhanced by solos never trivial, are very suitable to the context of a festival, without ever sacrificing the atmosphere so dear to the band, that paints a clear picture of Dark Matter- dark, mysterious flavor that marries perfectly with the splendid Piazza Duomo. Anesthetize (performed only in part, in conjunction with the "sold out Russia on Ice) is the most compelling piece of a very successful concert, which ends on notes of the classic Trains.
